SERIES: The Revelation of Jesus Christ and End- Time Events
SERMON: "God's Master Timetable and Prophetic Clock" Part 2
PRESENTER: Rev. Dr. JoAnne P. King
DATE: October 11, 2026

Good Morning Saints and Praise the Lord. Welcome to Exousia Ministries.
Saints when you turn to the Book of Revelation, you are not reading the wild imaginations of a young, enthusiastic writer looking for a bestseller. You are reading the divine, holy, inspired record written by the venerable Apostle John—the last surviving member of the original twelve disciples.
Imagine John in his nineties! He was an old warrior for the Gospel. History tells us that before the Roman authorities banished him to the rocky, desolate island of Patmos, they tried to silence him forever. They dragged this aged man of God into a cauldron of boiling oil to end his life. But let me tell you something today: Satan cannot kill what God has sealed until their work on earth is done! The oil couldn’t burn him, the flames couldn’t consume him, and the decree of Caesar couldn't stop him. Why? Because God had an appointment with John at ninety years old that would change human history forever!
Man of God, your body may be broken, your hair may be snow-white, and your feet may be bound in chains on Patmos, but your mission is not complete! You have one final vision to record for all humanity!
Saints, this reminds us that God is never done with you as long as you have breath in your lungs. Society may say you're too old, your circumstances may feel like an island of isolation, or you may feel past your prime—but God's divine purpose does not expire with age or difficulty. When the world tries to shut you down, God is simply preparing you for your next revelation of His power!
As we move forward through this series, it is helpful to keep the broader structure in mind so we understand how God's timeline unfolds:
[Sermon 1] The Unveiling of Christ & The Church Age
[Sermon 2] God's Master Timetable & Prophetic Clock
[Sermon 3] Heaven Holds the Throne While the Earth Shakes
[Sermon 4] Behind the Scenes When the World Stands Still
[Sermon 5] From the Fall of Babylon to the New Jerusalem--
The Return of the King
When we reach Sermon 4, we will slow down to examine what biblical scholars call "parenthetical intermissions." These are moments where God temporarily pauses the chronological sequence of judgments to step back and reveal what is happening behind the scenes in the spiritual realm:
The 4th Parenthetical (Revelation 7): God pauses between the 6th and 7th seals to demonstrate His mercy, placing a protective seal upon the 144,000 servants of God and revealing a vast multitude redeemed from every nation.
The 5th through 8th Parentheticals (Revelation 10–14): We will look at the Mighty Angel with the little scroll, the powerful ministry of the Two Witnesses standing against global wickedness, and the intense cosmic battle between the Dragon, the Beast, and the remnant of God's people.
The 9th Parenthetical (Revelation 14:6–20): Right before the final outpouring of God's wrath, an angel proclaims the everlasting gospel to all inhabitants of the earth, leading into the great harvest of the earth.
Now for today's sermon, we observe John locked away in a penal colony, surrounded by barren rocks and crashing sea waves, John was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day. And suddenly, the heavens ripped open! God handed John the quill, dipped it in the ink of divine truth, and commanded him to write the glorious
Unveiling of Jesus Christ.
When the world thought John was silenced, God gave him a divine trumpet that would echo across two thousand years right into this Zoom Meeting today!
Where did this book come from? Revelation 1:1 makes it crystal clear: The Revelation had its origin in the very mind of Almighty God.
These divine mysteries rested in the Father's heart from all eternity. But after Jesus laid down His life, rose from the grave, and was exalted to the right hand of majesty as the Head of the Church, God gave this Revelation unto Him to show His servants things which must shortly come to pass.
Do not let anyone tell you that Revelation is just a collection of symbolic fairy tales or Old Testament echoes. Over 158 passages throughout the Holy Scriptures point directly to the Revelation of Jesus Christ and end-time events! From Genesis to Malachi, through the Gospels and the Epistles, the entire Bible is moving toward this grand culmination!
Many people shrink back when they hear the word Apocalypse or Revelation. They think of destruction, doom, dark clouds, and terror. But in the original Greek language of the New Testament, the word is Apokalupsis. It literally means to take the cover off, to unveil, or to pull back the curtain!
Imagine walking into a grand art gallery where a masterpiece is covered by a heavy velvet sheet. The artist steps forward, grabs the edge, and pulls the curtain away to expose the magnificent painting underneath. That is Apokalupsis!
Revelation is not meant to hide the truth; it is meant to uncover the King! It uncovers Jesus not as the suffering Servant on a dusty road in Galilee, not as the bleeding Savior hanging naked on a Roman cross, but as the King of kings and Lord of lords, coming in power and great glory!
Why does God want us to study this book? Look at Revelation 1:3: "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand."
God promises a guaranteed, triple blessing to anyone who reads, hears, and obeys this book! Beyond this promise, Scripture reveals seven powerful reasons why every believer must study Bible prophecy:
It Acquaints Us with God’s Master Plan for Mankind.
Prophecy pulls back the curtain on the central subject of the ages—God's eternal purpose for creation (Ephesians 1:9–10). It demonstrates that human history is not a series of random accidents or chaotic human decisions. From eternity past to eternity future, God has designed a plan to redeem humanity, defeat evil, and establish His righteous Kingdom on earth. Studying prophecy aligns our hearts with the grand story God is writing.
Stop measuring your life by daily news headlines.
When world turmoil or political distress dominates the news, remind yourself that God’s Master Timetable is moving forward without interruption. Start your morning by placing your personal plans inside God’s eternal plan—realizing your life has purpose within His larger story.
It Convinces Us That There Really Is a God.
Only Almighty God can declare the end from the beginning before it ever comes to pass (Isaiah 46:9–10). When we examine hundreds of detailed prophecies written centuries in advance—detailing the rise and fall of empires, the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and the regathering of Israel—mathematical probability falls away. The exact fulfillment of prophecy proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the God of the Bible is living, real, and sovereign over the universe!
Let fulfilled prophecy destroy your daily doubts.
When you face a situation that feels impossible—a bad health report, financial strain, or a family crisis—remember the mathematical precision of God’s Word. If God brought hundreds of ancient prophecies to pass down to the very day, He can certainly handle the details of your life today.
How do we know how to read Revelation? We look at how prophecy was fulfilled in the past! Every single Old Testament prophecy regarding the First Coming of Jesus Christ—His birthplace in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2), His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14), His betrayal for thirty pieces of silver (Zechariah 11:12), and the piercing of His hands and feet (Psalm 22:16)—was fulfilled literally, precisely, and exactly as spoken. Because past prophecies were fulfilled literally, we have total confidence that future prophecies regarding His Second Coming will be fulfilled just as literally!
Take God at His word in everyday decisions.
Since God means exactly what He says regarding future events, He also means exactly what He says regarding His daily promises. Trust His literal commands on giving, forgiveness, marriage, and obedience—knowing His word never returns void.
It Prepares Christians to Avoid End-Time Deceptions.
Jesus warned in Matthew 24:24 that in the last days, "there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Studying prophecy acts as a spiritual shield. When you know the genuine blueprint of end-time events, you will not be tossed to and fro by sensationalized headlines, false date-setters, or deceptive spiritual movements arising in our culture today.
Filter every voice through the lens of Scripture.
Before sharing viral social media posts, listening to sensationalized preachers, or falling for end-time panics, run them through the 5 Rules of Rightly Dividing the Word. Use sound doctrine as your spiritual filter so your peace is never stolen by false alarms.
It Promotes an Evangelistic Church.
Nothing fuels a passion for soul-winning like realizing that time is short and eternity is real! Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:11, "Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men." A church that understands the impending reality of the Tribulation and the suddenness of the Rapture cannot remain stagnant or silent. Prophecy installs a holy urgency within us to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with our families, neighbors, and coworkers while the door of grace remains open!
Live with a "today" urgency for those around you.
Treat every conversation with unsaved family members, co-workers, and neighbors as an opportunity given by God’s grace during this "Divine Pause." Pray daily for open doors to share the Gospel, knowing the Church Age will not last forever.
It Tends to Purify the Believer.
When a Christian truly lives in anticipation of the Lord's return, it changes how they live every single day. 1 John 3:2–3 tells us that everyone who has this hope in Christ "purifieth himself, even as he is pure." When you realize that Jesus could return at any moment—at the sound of a trumpet—it breaks the hold of worldly compromises, cleanses our daily habits, and compels us to walk in holiness and integrity.
Ask yourself: "Would I be ashamed if Jesus returned right now?"
Let the expectation of the Rapture clean up your private life—what you watch on screens, how you talk to your spouse, and how you handle anger. Live with clean hands and a pure heart, ready for His sudden shout.
It Offers Confident Hope in a Hopeless Age.
We live in a world consumed by anxiety, war, moral decay, and uncertainty about the future. But 1 Thessalonians 4:18 tells us to "comfort one another with these words." Bible prophecy anchors our souls because we do not have to guess how the story ends. We aren't waiting for the world to collapse; we are waiting for the King to arrive! Prophecy replaces worldly fear with a blessed, unshakeable hope!
Trade modern anxiety for holy expectation.
When fear or depression tries to settle in over the future, speak 1 Thessalonians 4:18 out loud to yourself: "Our Lord is coming back!" Shift your perspective from looking at the chaos around you to looking up for the Savior above you.
The 5 Rules for Rightly Dividing the Word
To understand Revelation without getting lost, we must apply Apostle Paul's instruction to rightly divide the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15). The Book of Revelation addresses three distinct groups of people: The Jews (the Nation of Israel), The Gentiles (the unsaved nations of the world), and The Church (the redeemed body of Christ).
When you read any chapter in Revelation, apply these five simple rules:
Rule 1: Always read Scripture in context. Don't pull a verse out to force it to fit today's newspaper headline. Prophecies in Revelation line up seamlessly with prophecies in Genesis, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel (2 Peter 1:20–21).
Rule 2: Identify who is speaking. Is it God the Father, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, an Angel, or John himself
Rule 3: Identify who is being spoken to. Is the passage addressing Israel, the unsaved Gentile nations, or the blood-bought Church?
Rule 4: Know which group YOU belong to. If you are washed in the Blood of the Lamb, you belong to the Church, which changes which prophecies directly apply to your destiny!
Rule 5: Pinpoint the location and timing. Where is the action taking place (in Heaven or on Earth)? And when is it happening (Past, Present, or Future)?
The Mystery of the "Rapture" Now let’s address a question that skeptics love to bring up. Someone might say, You Christians keep talking about the 'Rapture,' but that word isn't even in your New Testament!
How do we answer them? You tell them: You're right, the English word 'Rapture' comes from the Latin translation!
In the original Greek New Testament, the word used in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 is Harpazo, which means to snatch away, to seize violently, or to catch up quickly. When scholars translated the Greek Bible into Latin, they used the word Raptura, which means a joyous, ecstatic catching away.
Why did they choose that word? Because when a kidnapper snatches someone away, it is a tragedy. But when Jesus Christ reaches down from Heaven to snatch His Bride off this sin-sick earth before judgment falls, it is not a tragedy—it is a joyous, glorious translation!
Listen to the trumpet sounding in 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17:
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
To grasp the timeline of Revelation, we must realize that God does not operate on human clocks or wristwatches. He has a Master Time-Table.
2 Peter 3:8 reminds us: "One day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."
"Are you waiting on God to answer a prayer or fulfill a promise in your life? Remember that God's delay is not God's denial. He operates on eternity's clock, not our microwave timing. Just as He manages human history with absolute precision, He is working behind the scenes in your life at exactly the right pace."
In Genesis 1 and 2, God restored creation in six days and rested on the seventh. In Ecclesiastes 1:9, Solomon tells us: "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be..." Many prophecies carry double meanings—a partial historical fulfillment in the past and a complete divine fulfillment in the future!
When you examine God’s Timeline throughout Holy Scripture, God has divided the story of human dominion upon the earth into three distinct 2,000-year periods:
Adam to Abraham (2,000 Years): From the Creation and Fall of Man in the Garden to the Covenant established with Abraham through the offering of Isaac on Mount Moriah.
Abraham to Christ (2,000 Years): From the Abrahamic Covenant, through the Law of Moses, up to the ultimate Sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary, establishing the New Testament Covenant.
Christ to the End of the Church Age (2,000 Years): The era of Grace in which we are living right now!
Notice the pattern of the number seven throughout Scripture! In Revelation, you will see 7 Churches, 7 Seals, 7 Trumpets, 7 Vials, 7 Angels, and 7 Thunders. In divine biblical order, the number seven always represents perfection, completion, and spiritual fullness!
To understand where we are standing right now on God's clock, look at how God has dealt with humanity across Seven Dispensational Ages:
The Age of Innocence (Genesis 1:28–31)
This began with Adam and Eve in the pristine Paradise of Eden, living in sinless perfection and walking with God in the cool of the day. But man’s rebellion against God’s single command brought sin, spiritual death, and the Fall of creation.
The Age of Conscience (Genesis 3:22 – 7:23 | 1,656 Years)
After the Fall, man was left to govern himself guided only by his conscience and moral awareness. But without divine restraint, the human heart turned utterly wicked. Cain murdered Abel, wickedness multiplied, and evil filled the earth until God washed the world clean with the Great Flood in the days of Noah.
The Age of Civil Government (Genesis 8:20 – 11:9 | 429 Years)
After the Flood, God established human government, commanding mankind to multiply and scatter across the earth. But instead of obeying, man gathered in pride at the Tower of Babel to build a monument to human self-sufficiency. God scattered them by confounding their languages.
The Age of Promise (Genesis 11:10 – Exodus 19 | 430 Years)
God called Abraham out of Ur of the Chaldees and made an unconditional covenant with him and his descendants. Yet lack of faith eventually led Israel down into Egypt during famine, culminating in 400 years of bitter slavery under a Pharaoh who knew not Joseph.
The Age of the Law (Exodus 20 – Malachi 4 | 1,524 Years)
At Mount Sinai, God gave Moses the Ten Commandments and the ceremonial law to govern Israel as a holy nation. Yet Israel repeatedly broke God’s law, fell into idolatry, and endured captivity under Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome (the Times of the Gentiles), culminating in the rejection of their own Messiah at Calvary.
The Church Age (Pentecost to Present | 1,970+ Years)
This is where we stand today! The veil of the Temple was torn in two! The Holy Spirit was poured out at Pentecost! For nearly two thousand years, God has been reaching out to both Jew and Gentile, gathering a Bride for His Son Jesus Christ under the era of Unmerited Grace and Mercy.
"We are living in the sweetest era of human history—the Age of Unmerited Grace! God's grace isn't a license to live carelessly, but an invitation to live gratefully. Every morning you wake up during this Church Age is another day to share God's mercy with a hurting neighbor, forgive someone who wronged you, and shine Christ's light in a dark world."
Following the Tribulation, Jesus Christ will return with His saints to rule and reign upon the earth from Jerusalem for 1,000 years of literal peace, justice, and righteousness! (The Millennial Kingdom) (Rev. 20:1-6)
If you want to understand the timing of end-time events, you must understand the mathematical precision of Daniel’s 70-Week Prophecy. (Daniel 9:24–27)
This is the key that unlocks the entire timeline of Revelation!
In Daniel 9:24, the Angel Gabriel told Daniel: "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city..."
Remember Rule 3 of dividing Scripture: This prophecy is not about the Church! It is specifically about Daniel’s people (the Jews) and Daniel’s holy city (Jerusalem).
In Hebrew, the word translated as "week" is Shabua, which literally means a unit of seven. Just as a dozen means 12 items, a week in prophetic terminology means 7 years.
Therefore, 70 weeks equals 70 times 7 years, which equals 490 Prophetic Years. God set aside 490 years to deal with Israel, finish transgression, and bring in everlasting righteousness.
The First Division: 7 Weeks (49 Years)
This period began with the decree to rebuild the walls and streets of Jerusalem under Nehemiah. It took exactly 49 years to rebuild Jerusalem and complete the restoration under Ezra and Nehemiah.
The Second Division: 62 Weeks (434 Years)
Adding 49 years and 434 years gives us 483 years. From the completion of Jerusalem's walls until the exact day Jesus rode into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday was precisely 483 years! And immediately after, Daniel 9:26 says: "Messiah shall be cut off, but not for himself." Jesus was crucified on the cross for the sins of the world!
The Divine Pause: The Church Age Gap
Subtracting 483 years from 490 years leaves 7 years remaining. Where did those last 7 years go?
When Israel rejected Jesus as their Messiah, God’s prophetic clock for Israel stopped ticking. God paused the clock and opened up a vast divine parenthesis called the Church Age! For nearly 2,000 years, the prophetic clock for Israel has been paused while God saves whosoever will!
"God paused His prophetic clock for Israel specifically to make room for YOU and ME! That pause shows us the incredible patience and mercy of God. If God extended His grace across two thousand years so that you could be saved, how can we keep that good news to ourselves? We ought to be urgent about telling our families and friends about Jesus today!"
The 70th Week (The 7-Year Tribulation)
The moment the Rapture takes place and the Church is caught up to Heaven, God’s prophetic clock for Israel will start ticking again!
That final remaining 7-year period is the Tribulation Period. It is divided into two equal parts of 3½ years each. The first 3½ years bring false peace under the Antichrist, while the final 3½ years bring the Great Tribulation—unprecedented judgment culminating in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ at Armageddon!
Saints look at where we are sitting on God’s Master Timeline today! Since we are currently living in the Church Age, and the Church has not yet been raptured, it is impossible for the world to come to an end today! We are not waiting for judgment; we are waiting for the Trumpet to Sound!
If 483 years of Daniel’s prophecy were fulfilled to the exact day, you can be certain that the final 7 years will be fulfilled just as precisely! God's Word has never failed, and it won't start failing now. Are you living like Jesus could return today?
Because you know how to rightly divide the Word, you don't have to be tossed to and fro by modern date-setters or end-time panic. You know the order of events: First, the Church Age ends with the Rapture. Second, the Tribulation begins on earth. Third, Jesus returns in glory to establish His Kingdom.
In closing Saints, over the centuries, how many times have we seen men try to play God with the calendar?
Think back to 2012 when the entire world was buzzing because the ancient Mayans supposedly predicted the end of the age on December 21st. People panicked, built shelters, and wasted their lives in fear! Down through history, famous religious leaders, self-proclaimed prophets, and modern date-setters have stood up, picked a date, and claimed to know the exact moment of Christ's return.
And every single one of them failed!
Every single prediction came to absolutely nothing! Why? Because Jesus Himself settled this issue over two thousand years ago in Matthew 24:36 when He declared:
"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only."
If the angels in heaven don't know the date, and the Son in His humanity didn't give a date, no earthly calendar or self-appointed prophet is ever going to figure it out! God deliberately kept the exact hour hidden for a reason—so that every generation would live in constant expectation!
Listen to me today: The fact that you have breath in your lungs and are alive at this very moment means you cannot afford to play games!
Since no man knows the day nor the hour, you have to be ready ALL the time! This is not the time to be living carelessly! This is not the time to be straddling the fence, playing with sin on Friday, sitting in church on Sunday, and pretending everything is fine! This is not the time to compromise with the world, harbor bitterness in your heart, or put off your salvation until "tomorrow."
When that trumpet sounds, there won't be time to fix your life, time to make things right, or time to pray a sinner's prayer. It will happen in the twinkling of an eye!
Wake up, Saints! Put on the armor of light, clean up your walk, and fix your eyes on the skies! Live ready, stay ready, and do not be caught sleeping when the King arrives!
Let's give the Lord a praise offering for His teaching today on "God's Master Timetable and Prophetic Clock," Sermon 2.
